Hello all dear nesuits!

My name is Matilda Saarinen (although all my NESU friends know me as Madde) and I am a 21-year-old economics students from Aalto University School of Business. My NESU career started in January 2015 as a board member of NESU-KY in Helsinki and there was no coming back after that. During my first year in university, I spent (to be truth to myself) more time on the road going around sitsparties in other NESU cities that in the lecture halls and fell in love with this great organisation.
In my case, the decision to apply for the board of NESU Finland came actually just a few seconds before the election, but looking back to that moment last summer I am really glad that I made this decision. These months have been a great “next episode” to my NESU career after NESU-KY, opening my eyes even more to how wide NESU actually spreads in Finland and in the Nordics. During these 6 months I have learned a lot about team work, taking responsibility and doing my best for the shared good. Being able to affect issues that reach all the NESU cities in Finland is actually pretty cool.
My responsibilities in NESU Finland are corporate and international relations. In short, that means coordinating the acquisition of corporate partners for our events, for example snacks for the 3 day sitstours in different cities, and keeping contact with the other NESU countries, meaning Iceland, Estonia and Denmark at the moment. Think about that: there aren’t many student organisations where you get to cooperate with business students abroad, which makes NESU Finland and NESU in general quite special! This year we are also taking a big step forward by organising for the first time ever a case competition with companies. This is an important step for NESU Finland for making us known among companies which will be our future employers. So check out https://www.facebook.com/events/1682412665350757/ and hope to see you all at Casa on March 29. 😉
I could most warmly recommend the board of NESU Finland for everyone: you get to do things that actually matter, meet lots of new people and organise epic events. And most importantly, you get to have the time of your life. To join Jannica, Ville and Jenni, if you have any questions concerning our organisation or anything, don’t hesitate to ask us. You can find our contact information in NESU Finland’s section.

Best regards,
Madde
