The annual NESU Spring Conference is almost here and you can feel the semmajännä (conference excitement) arising already. As the application period for the Spring Conference 2026 has just begun, let’s take a look back to the Autumn Conference 2025 through Alessandro’s and Oskar’s eyes.
1. Where did you hear about the conference and why did you apply?
Alessandro:
NESU came for the excursion trip to Copenhagen and I participated in the Sitz party The atmosphere was so wonderful that I decided to subscribe for the conference the very next day.
Oskar:
Just like Alessandro, I first heard about the conference during the NESU Excursion Sitz in Copenhagen. I was lucky enough to get seated with some amazing NESU people that told me about the conference. After having a blast with all the NESU people I couldn’t resist signing up just the next day.
2. What kind of expectations did you have for the week?
Alessandro:
I expected a fun and interesting week full of activities and new people. My expectations were fully met and I had so much fun
Oskar:
To be completely honest I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. I heard there would be case competitions and partying, but I was completely blown away by how fun every single part of those days were. Whether it was day or evening activities I had fun at every turn.

3. What did the week include?
Alessandro:
The week included both day activities, like case studies or museum visits and night fun with city run, sauna and karaoke e.g.
Oskar:
As Alessandro said we had multiple day activities which were more academic and then more social evening events like Sitz’s, city run, karaoke nights and much more!

4. What was the best thing about the conference?
Alessandro:
The best thing was definitely the people and the environment that made the week special. A safe space out of home where there is no judgement
Oskar:
I’ll definitely agree with Alessandro here, the people were what made this conference really special. Never have I met a completely new group of people that made me feel at home so fast. It didn’t matter if I was working on a group presentation or drinking in a hot tub, I always felt like I was part of the NESU family.

5. You can talk more about your favourite activity or memory from the week
Alessandro:
My favourite activity was the bath in the lake and sauna the first night, such a nice start! First sauna and coldest bath of my life!
Oskar:
Well that’s a difficult question, the first night with the Sitz, sauna and swimming in the lake was definitely one of the best nights I’ve had for years. However I don’t think anything can top how legendary the city run was. I had such a great team and each stop was memorable. Go Elton Nesuits!!!

6. How do you feel about the experience overall?
Alessandro:
It was an amazing time and I’m sure I’ll participate to some future NESU events as well, people are so welcoming.
Oskar:
I had such a great time, I already feel like a part of the NESU family. I’m excited to join future conferences and bringing more people from Denmark.

7. What would you say to someone who is considering applying to the conference for the first time?
Alessandro:
Definitely do it, every one is welcome, embrace the experience and give your contribution to make the week special
Oskar:
Go for it! It can be intimidating to go to a conference full of people you’ve never met before, but I promise it will be one of the best experiences of your life. You will be welcomed to the conference with open arms and it will be an unbelievable experience.
