The NESU Excursion 2025 was held in mid-September in Copenhagen, Denmark. We had lots of fun in Copenhagen, but what happened behind the scenes? My name is Iiris Nuutinen, and I was part of the organizing team as a Finance representative. I attended also in NESU Excursion 2024, and after that, I have done a deep dive into NESU 😀
For your surprise, the NESU Excursion project started nearly a year ago! We started from a scratch in November 2024, when our team was formed. First, we decided on a destination, and after the discussion we came to a conclusion to go to Copenhagen. After all, the decision was really good!
During the year, we contacted different companies for corporate visits, decided what we wanted to do during free time, arranged sitz venue, and applied for fundings and grants. We were lucky enough to get funding from Nordic Culture Point to provide the best trip for our participants <3
Before the participants arrived in Copenhagen, the organizing team had two hardworking days on-site. We checked that everything was in place so we could make the best trip for you! During these days, we also explored the city and got to know the local culture.

On Wednesday, our lovely participants arrived in Copenhagen, and the mayhem started! In the evening we had a welcoming event including a dinner together to get to know each other. The first day was quite chill since everyone had a long day travelling.
On Thursday, we started with a lovely brunch in B&W. After that, we headed to the Home of Carlsberg, and had an interesting guided and museum tour in the old brewery. After that we had our first company visit to Kunde & Co, where we got insights into marketing consulting. In the evening we went to the Tivoli and had an awesome night with our new friends <3
On Friday, we had our second company visit to GN Group. We learned a lot about hearing and possibilities to work in GN Group. After that, we had possibly our most awaited part of the week, a three-course dinner in the legendary Nyhavn. After enjoying the dinner, we had our evening program, Escape rooms! All participants were splitted in groups and we had an hour to get out of the escape rooms. That was a fun experience, and I loved that!
On Saturday, we had the Extravaganza in the morning. We explored the city and did some tasks around Copenhagen. Some things are secret for a reason, but we had a lot of fun! The Saturday night was calling to us, because we had our SITZ PARTY in the evening!!!! We were also grateful to get seven students from Copenhagen Business School to explore Finnish student culture. The Vikings in Valhalla -sits were blast and we had so much fun!
On Sunday we had a chill day. We had a lovely boat cruise in the center of Copenhagen. In the evening, we had a farewell event where we said goodbye to our old and new NESU-friends <3 After that, we headed to the hotel and got prepared for the departure.

The price for participants was 150 euros, which included five days’ accommodation, breakfast for every morning, 3-course dinner in Nyhavn, dinner in Welcome and Farewell event, corporate visits, sitz party, Tivoli visit, boat cruise and much more!
Excursion is my favourite event concept, and this time was not an exception! Excursion combines all my favourite things, travelling, new friends, parties and culture. I’m truly grateful to all the participants, the organizing team, and our partners who made this trip possible. It was amazing to see how nearly a year of hard work turned into joy, new friendships, and lasting memories. I hope this will inspire future generations of NESU to take on new challenges and experience the same sense of community, and we’ll continue again next year!
