Greetings from the board: spring 2026

Hello! Autumn went by quickly and was filled with all sorts of fun. The board and I got to know each other even better, since we saw each other almost every week at some event somewhere in Finland. Sadly, there is not much evidence of these trips, because apparently we are more of the live in the moment type of participants 🙂

In the fall, we organized the Tillin Tallinn trip and we also brought the Eastern Finland round back. Both events were successful and I’m looking forward to our spring events (cough cough wappuround). In particular, I am also looking forward to us starting up alumni activities in some form because who wouldn’t want to maintain this community even after graduation..?

As a chairperson, I am satisfied with little improvements in small administrative matters, but I think no one else would be interested to read about them. An honorable mention goes to the country meeting of Lappeenranta’s semma, which we completed in less than 10 minutes. A less honourable mention goes to the Dagen NPV meeting, which took a good 2 and half hours. Just kidding, it was once again wonderful to see how skilled and competent our chairperson’s network is. Still and forever, the best thing about NESU are all these wonderful people <3

With love,

It was truly an amazing fall! I loved that we got to organize Itä-Suomen rundi as I had never had the chance to participate in it before. We were also probably the most active board of NESU Finland ever in terms of event participation. There wasn’t too many NESU events without our board blessing(?) them with our presence.

I hope we continue to be active and visible in the NESU scene in the spring also, as I love hanging out with other NESU people! I am also looking forward to seeing what we come up with for our beloved NESU alumnis :).

Autumn has been full of achievements and great teamwork at NESU Finland. We brought back the Eastern Finland round, reintroduced the legendary NESU bathrobes, and managed to organize our trip to Estonia despite several challenges. I’m especially proud of the Estonia trip, which brought together an amazing mix of new and familiar faces. We truly have an incredible board, where everyone can be trusted to give their absolute best. In my role as Treasurer, I was surprised by how much money actually moves behind the scenes – but also by how quickly I learned to manage the systems. Every event requires balancing between creating unforgettable experiences and staying financially sustainable, and this autumn also taught me when it’s important to say no if the financial situation demands it.

Looking ahead to spring, my main personal goal is to finalize the book-keeping on time and leave NESU Finland’s finances in great shape for the next amazing board. I especially hope that vappurundi will be a huge success both in terms of participants and finances – a perfect spring would mean a completely sold-out vappurundi. Our finances are already on a strong foundation, and I don’t see a major need to change our current approach. What I’m most excited about are the upcoming joint projects and events where our entire board gets to represent together again. I also hope we continue with the same great momentum toward summer, creating unforgettable moments along the way.

The fall was great! I have learned a lot about website building and applied my new skills to nesu.net. As a board, we have collaborated together to organize some amazing events and advanced the NESU culture to a good direction. I’m especially happy about the trip to Tallinn which we did because it’s not too often we can go sitz abroad! Also, our board was very active around all of Finland and I liked it a lot that we saw each other often <3

For the spring, I’m really looking forward to organizing our Wappurundi, the possible alumni event and keeping up our good spirit. I will also be attending as many sitz parties as possible and of course the conference! As the webmaster, I will keep improving and maintaining our website. Also, one goal for me is to try to film more content for our social medias since we have not been the best at that ;D

Miau!

Autumn was definitely one of the most unforgettable, fun, and active ones for me. I realized that from September to December there was only one week when I was home in Oulu for the whole week but who’s counting 😉 Even though at times it was quite hectic and chaotic even, I am truly grateful for the bond and all the amazing memories we have created already with our board, not to forget other wonderful nesuits as well <3 As a member of our board, besides being active in pretty much every NESU city in Finland, I am especially proud of the events we created together. Some might say that it was even a bit crazy to go through with our projects, however I can confidently say that for us and the participants they were big hits. Besides the events I am also proud of how active and close our board has been behind the scenes as well.

Personally I have had high hopes and goals for our communication channels. To be completely honest some of my ideas did not see the light of day (yet) and I wish we had been more active in our socials especially considering how active we were in real life. Overall I am happy with everything I and we have done but naturally we could have done more hence active content creation and posting is one of our main goals for this spring. I know the potential and want to captivate all the amazing moments and energy NESU has and share it publicly as well. Otherwise for spring I hope that we keep the spirits up and am looking forward to the conference, of course vappurundi, and other events also. We have cooked something very special to all you lovelies and hope to see a lot of new and familiar faces this spring <3

Hello dear readers! The first part of our year went great. We had the pleasure of giving you guys a little bus trip around three cities, and we were glad to see many new faces along with many old ones! Some rumors even whisper about a new one being in the making ; )!

We also took part in NESU-Dagen with some insights and workshops for the new boards and would also like to thank NESU Optimi for hosting the event! Last but not least we were also happy to be able to visit almost every single NESU city’s sitz parties, even Estonia and Denmark.

For the spring we are eager to bring some new shenanigans and see what the KY Conference has been cooking. We also hope to see many new and old faces attending ours and other NESU events as it always is such a good time. And unlike the project manager, remember to also do your school assignments :D!

The first half of the year started off with a fast pace. There was a bit of “representing” all around, and I managed to squeeze in 21 sits parties in three different countries during the autumn. In addition to running around Finland, we did something useful at times and Finski also got a new partner. Overall, a successful first half.

Someone smarter could have rested during the holidays, but despite the bad choices, I’m going into the second half of the season full of energy. So the pace is not intended to slow down at all.
