Greetings from Jyväskylä!
Our year has kicked off quite eventfully. This year’s NESU Dagen was held here in Jyväskylä in January. All the credit goes to our amazing board of ’22 for organizing the event, our new board was the helping hands where needed. We had a blast at Dagen, and we hope that all participants had too! Also in January, we started to plan our first sitzparty which was held only a few days ago. The sitz went well and it was great to see nesuits from many different cities here in Jyväskylä! Our board is excited about this year, and speaking of which, let’s take a look what the year might have in store for us – our vision.
The renown NESU-kärpänen from our previous blog post, is still buzzing loudly here in Jyväskylä! Our members have actively participated in sitzparties all around Finland, which has been great to see. The NESU-spirit within our members has been growing and growing. This year we want to continue that trend. Our board has been eager to attend sitzparties in other NESU-cities, but we haven’t found the time and space in our calendars to do so yet. Luckily, the year has only just begun, and we will have lots of opportunities ahead of us.
In fact, the next opportunity is right around the corner. We will load up a bus with business students and head to Tampere for a Winter Classic ice hockey tournament, where Boomi, Pörssi and Dumppi will be playing. After the games we will be attending our beloved NESU-Boomi’s Torimöyhö-sitsit.
For the remainder of the year, we will be organizing three sitzparties and a bus trip to a mysterious location to visit one of the NESU-organizations. Our second sitzparty of the spring will kick off the legendary Wappurundi in April. We are hoping to see many nesuits here in Jyväskylä this year!
With love,
NESU-JKL ‘23
