We were four walruses from NESU-KY heading to Tampere to take part in the sitsi-party, which was held under the theme “Third World War”. For three of us it was our first sitsi-party in another city than Helsinki. And now afterwards I can say that it was worth it.

All in all, the party had a good atmosphere even though there were “only” 80 participants. There were people in green army clothes and in futuristic terminator clothes ready to fight and to win the war at Sorin klubi, where the event was held. The party started with Finnish army-style commandments and I guess that most of the guys felt like in the army times that they should obey. The toastmasters were brilliant, when they were leading us through the war. As presents they got everything useful that they would need in a war, such as toilet paper and pea soup.

During the war we fought by singing songs, drinking, enjoying the food (chicken pasta) and watching good performances. Performances included some funny songs with new war-style lyrics. Also a couple of punishments were seen because of soldiers trying to escape the battlefront, which was strictly forbidden. Otherwise toast masters managed to keep the order well thanks to their loud delivery.

Suddenly we got the news that the war has ended: our amazing team spirit has helped us to win. After all the things we had experienced during the war, we of course wanted to see how the life would go on after that. The party continued in Fat Lady, one of the best night clubs in Tampere.
