Hi all you lovely nesuits!
I’m happy to tell everyone about my relationship with NESU and what I have done on NESU Finland’s board as the successor of Ville Virkkala, who was responsible for the 2014-2015 NESU Finland’s treasure.
I am Minna Kortesmaa, a gutty and determined industrial management student from Vaasa. My encounter with NESU was love at first sight, but like all love stories, it burst into fire the following spring. The first Sits party that I went to outside of Vaasa, was the Amis sits party in Jyväskylä during the spring of my first year. I went there with NESU active Mononen and jere the NESU-Boomi’s board of 2013. I encourage you all to get involved with Sits parties even if you don’t know anyone, because you will meet wonderful people and will certainly not regret it. I have been to almost all the NESU-cities at least once spending rowdy Sits parties (Mikkeli, I promise to come this year). I am a woman who loves to travel and I aim to make a tour with other like-minded people at least once a year. The last time I toured a very convenient route, Tampere-Lappeenranta-SSHV, as a tip for the rest of you. 😉 I also went to a NESU seminar for the first time this year. It was in Iceland and I can’t express how awesome the whole week was with all its events. You all should experience it at least once!
So, what have I done in practice, as the treasurer of NESU? For the past five months I’ve been accounting, paying bills, making bills, estimating the cost structure and making budget estimates for 2014-2015. In addition, I have done my best keeping contact with businesses. We are all helping each other out among the board members if the tasks are piling up. I think the current NESU Finland board has become a great team.
5 months behind the board so far and I’m really happy for everything we’ve experienced so far. There are still a few things that I want to develop in NESU Finland’s activities before the end of the year on the Board. See you at Sits parties and other events. I look forward to meeting all the new nesuits.
With love,
Minna Kortesmaa
Treasurer
