Warm greetings from Kuopio!
It feels like we just celebrated New Year’s Eve in the cold Finnish winter, but we are already living on April and the summer is slowly but surely sneaking around the corner! As some wise man once said, “Time flies fast when you are having fun”. I know that sounds like a cliché, but the past year has been at least as fun as the one before (maybe even more 😀 ) with plenty of sits-parties provided by our lovely NESU organizations.
While we do not have a concrete roadmap laid out about the future of NESU-Preemio we feel confident about the future of our organization. Over the next five years our goal is to keep organizing and providing unforgettable sits-parties for NESU enthusiasts. We would like to see more exchange students at our sits-parties and show people with different nationalities what NESUilu is all about. We did see some exchange students at our Oktoberfest-sits last January, but the event was hosted mostly in Finnish so if they had not learned the fine art of speaking (drunk) Finnish they probably didn’t quite catch everything that was said. Sits-parties are the heart and soul of NESU, but diversifying event offerings could help us reach broader audience, especially for students that don’t drink alcohol. It is possible that in the future we try some other types of events while still of course keeping the fundamentals of NESUilu intact.
We have a great team here in Kuopio with lots of passion for NESU activities. From brainstorming new event ideas, planning themed parties, and fostering connections with other NESU organizations, our team works hard to keep the NESU spirit alive and well in the heart of Savo.
