Two conferences. 19 sitz parties. Seven board meetings. Countless memories.
Although it is easy to put my NESU year in numbers, summing up my experience in words is a harder task. The past year has offered me so many opportunities and memories to last a lifetime. So many new friends, as well as reunions with old pals from my previous NESU years.
Being the treasurer of NESU Finland has been so much more than merely taking care of the finances of our country union. It has enabled me to see the big picture of NESU and develop this beloved organization. Because for me, NESU has always been something more than just another student organization, or just an obligatory mark in my CV. The experiences NESU has offered me have shaped these to be the best years of my life. I have become braver. More open. The people I have met have become my best friends, which proofs that NESU is nothing without its people, nesuits.
Sadly, all good things must come to an end, and the finish line of my reign as the treasurer is approaching, which is why we are scouting for the next generation of NESU Finland.
Let’s play a game to figure out if you are up to applying for the board of NESU Finland. Never have I ever… Longed for sitz parties and other NESU events during coronatime. Never have I ever… Made a dear friend through NESU. Never have I ever… Felt included as a part of something bigger because of NESU.
If you recognize yourself in even one of the previous statements and feel like taking a sip, congratulations, you are eligible for applying for the next board of NESU Finland! Trust me, you won’t regret a second of it.
But don’t think for a minute that I’ll be retiring from NESU just yet… 😉
