Greetings from NESU-Waasa!
This year has kept our new board busy but for a good reason. We have held regular meetings and casual evenings together and even with other student organizations here in Vaasa. It is already easy to say that NESU-Waasa will have another very active and eventful year coming up. Our whole board had a great kickstart for this year when we participated the NESU-Dagen 2023 (shoutout to NESU-JKL! <3) and we’re able to make many new friends from other cities. Our first New year’s resolution sitz party was also a great success and it was nice to see a good number of participants from other NESU-cities!
Actually, we’ve already had two sitz parties this year. The other sitz party was arranged together with the local Justus ry (legal students in Vaasa) and that’s why these sitz weren’t traditional NESU sitz. Our one goal is to support and work with other student organizations and that’s why we have planned to participate and represent NESU-Waasa at various student events here in Vaasa.
Our vision for this year is to bravely try out new opportunities, but at the same time stick to our long-term traditions here in Vaasa. Especially, we want to listen to the wishes and ideas of our great and active members! For example, for a long time, we have been asked to arrange a sitz party, where our members can bring a friend outside of NESU-organization. That’s why our next More duo than Solo -sitz will be held as a “friendsitz”!
Our members here in Vaasa have always been very active to sitz and the atmosphere at our sitz parties is always on the ceiling. We want to share this kind of NESU-spirit more with all of you! That’s why we want to encourage our members even more this year to try sitz parties in another NESU-cities. The goal is to have as many red overalls as possible all over Finland, and perhaps even in another NESU-country…
